Thomas Dolezal

Born in Vienna Thomas Dolezal studied at the Conservatory of the Archdiocese of Vienna and at Vienna’s University of Music and Performing Arts, specialising in church music (graduation with unanimous honours and an advancement scholarship from Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research), composition and organ.

He has worked as a musician at the Cathedral since 1989. He also works as a teacher and composer, and performs in Austria and elsewhere. His artistic activities cover a broad range of genres including stage music, CD recordings, specialist literature, lectures, radio and television productions, musical conception and overall leadership of many large-scale church events.

Thomas Dolezal founded the collegium ARS Musica in 1998. This group of musicians specialises in ceremonial musical under his directorship. His clients include the Apostolic Nuncio, the Conference of Austrian Bishops, the Office of the Federal President of the Republic of Austria and many other organisations.
